A A desire to succeed and a strong interest and understanding of business management are important. The required amount of capital is needed, along with financial stability. Previous franchise or business ownership is a plus, but Verlo® University will provide the necessary training.
Q What systems and procedures does Verlo® Mattress Factory Stores have in place?
A Our proprietary point-of-sale system, web portal, and documented operating systems give you the edge in retail management, employee aptitude, performance and education, customer service, advertising strategies, retail execution, customer contact, follow up and database management. Comprehensive, ongoing training for franchisees, managers and retail associates keeps performance well above industry averages. Meetings, research, training, newsletters, and location visits by trained Home Office staff creates a dedicated network of support.
Q Will I be building mattresses myself?
A Many successful owners work on the business, and manage their production and sales employees.
Q What training does Verlo® Mattress Factory Stores provide?
A Quality training and continuing education and development programs set us apart from other franchisors. New franchise owners orientation and training takes place at Verlo® university at our Home Office in Wisconsin. Ongoing market training, professional sales training and employee training takes place in regional sales meetings and through our technology portal systems.
Q Is training mandatory?
A Training is mandatory. You must understand how a Verlo® Mattress Factory Stores franchise works and is successfully run. You and your key managers will receive comprehensive training at Verlo® University.
Q What if I've never owned a business before?
A When you purchase your franchise rights, you are granted access to our exclusive, proven systems of operation. We were the first to offer a retail mattress franchise because we perfected the systems that allow for success. Our comprehensive training program will provide the necessary guidance.
Q How long until I can open my first store?
A The time between being awarded a franchise and opening your Verlo® Mattress Factory Store will most likely be 60 to 180 days depending on your site selection process and required tenant improvements. However, we work with you to meet the deadlines you'd like to achieve.
Q How many employees do I need?
A That depends on the size of your market and anticipated growth. You generally need a manager, several salespeople and some production workers. In our system, your salespeople are also "Craftspeople" because they build, or know how to build, each and every mattress they sell. Showroom store generally staff 2 to 3 employees and assembly/showroom facilities 4-7.
Q What about marketing support?
A Franchisees contribute to a national Marketing Fund. These funds are used for the creation of marketing, advertising and sales programs run nationally and in your local market.
Q How does the Home Office assist in site selection?
A Our experts have ongoing relationships with real estate developers and brokers who assist with location identification. We review sites with experience-based criteria. We provide a streamlined process regarding location, visibility, store size, market, media, competition and demographic overview.
Q What about the floor plan, lay out and set-up of the store?
A Verlo® Mattress Factory Stores operating system designates colors, lighting and lay out criteria that will maximize your retail dollars per square foot return. We will assist you in creating your floor plan to be consistent with this proven formula. As a new franchise owner you will be provided a list of vendors, suppliers and local store marketing strategies to ensure a successful launch.
Q How much money can I make?
A As a franchise company, we are regulated as to how an earnings claim can be communicated. We can provide this information to you in written form in the Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC). To obtain the UFOC, please complete the Confidential Application. Verlo® Mattress Factory Stores is one of the few franchise companies that provides this information to prospective franchisees.
Q Is financing available?
