A Documented operating systems give you the edge in retail management, product design, customer service, and management. Comprehensive, ongoing training keeps performance well above industry averages. Meetings, research, training, newsletters, and location visits by trained staff creates a dedicated network of support.
Q What training does Island Bedding & Furniture® provide?
A Quality training and continuing education and development programs set us apart from other licensors. New licensee orientation and training takes place at our US manufacturing campus in Whitewater, Wis. Ongoing market training and professional sales training are provided.
Q Is training mandatory? What does it cost?
A Training is mandatory. You must understand how an Island Bedding & Furniture® Store works and is successfully run. You and your key manager will receive comprehensive training at our training center. Training costs are included in your initial license fee.
Q What if I've never owned a business before?
A When you purchase your license rights, you are granted access to our exclusive, proven systems of operation. We were the first to offer a retail mattress license opportunity because we perfected the systems that allow for success. You use your skills of implementation to execute these systems.
Q How long until I can open my first store?
A The typical time between being awarded a license and opening your store is 60 days. However, we work with you to meet the deadlines you'd like to achieve.
Q How many employees do I need?
A That depends on the size of your market and anticipated growth. You generally need a manager and some production workers. In our system, your salespeople build each and every mattress they sell.
Q What about the floor plan, lay-out, and set-up of the store?
A Island Bedding & Furniture® Stores operating system designates lay-out criteria that will maximize your retail dollars per square foot return. We will assist you in creating your floor plan to be consistent with this proven formula.
Q What are the terms of the licensing agreement? What about licensing fees?
A The Island Bedding & Furniture® Stores licensing term is five years with consecutive additional renewal terms of five years each.
